Editorial Policy
This page explains how World Football Portal decides what it publishes, who writes it, how we check it, and what we do when we get something wrong. It is written for readers, editors and advertisers alike, because trust only survives if the rules are public. If you disagree with a piece on this site, we would rather explain how it was produced than simply ask you to accept it.
What We Cover
World Football Portal is a football data and editorial site. We publish live scores, fixtures, standings, team and player profiles, goal-timing analysis and tournament news for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the UEFA Europa League and the wider international game. The scope is deliberately narrow: we cover the sport, not the personalities around it. We do not publish lifestyle content, celebrity news or opinion pieces written to generate clicks.
Who Writes the Site
Every article is written or edited by a named member of the editorial team. Match reports, previews and analysis are commissioned by the duty editor and written by staff writers or by contracted contributors whose names appear on the piece. We do not publish anonymous articles, and we do not run undisclosed advertorial copy as news. Corrections and data updates are made by the same desk that published the original item, so responsibility stays attached to the work.
Accuracy, Sources and Data Methodology
Facts are checked before publication, and our match and fixture data comes from established feed providers rather than from user submissions. Where a figure is uncertain — an attendance number, a disciplinary detail, a transfer reported by only one outlet — we say so, or we leave it out. We prefer an incomplete page to a precise-looking page that is wrong. Data products on this site are regenerated automatically from our feeds on a fixed schedule; when a feed is unavailable we show the last verified values rather than zeroes or blanks.
Automated and AI-Assisted Production
Some parts of this site are produced automatically. Fixtures, standings, live scores, statistics and head-to-head records are assembled by software directly from licensed data feeds — there is no human author for those numbers, and no human opinion attached to them. Match reports for fixtures outside our editorial coverage are drafted with the assistance of automated language tools and are reviewed by a human editor before publication; where that review identifies an error, the piece is corrected or withdrawn. Automated drafting never invents a quotation, an attendance figure or a result. Nothing is published to this site by an unattended automated system without a named editor taking responsibility for it, and we will not accept money for automated coverage of a match.
Editorial Independence
Advertising revenue does not buy editorial coverage. No sponsor can request that a match be covered, that a result be described in a particular way, or that a piece be withdrawn or edited. Advertisements are labelled as advertisements and are placed by the advertising desk, which is organisationally separate from the newsroom. If an advertiser is also a subject of a story, we disclose the relationship and we do not write the story. Sponsorship never buys a headline, a ranking position, a place in a standings table or a mention in an editorial recommendation.
Corrections
When we publish something that is factually wrong, we correct it and we say that we did. Confirmed corrections are attached to the affected page with a note explaining what was wrong and what it was changed to, so that a reader who saw the original version knows the change happened. We do not quietly delete or edit an error and hope nobody noticed, and we do not remove a correction note when it becomes inconvenient. Requests for correction are handled through the contact page; please include the page address and what you believe the correct information is.
Updates and Dating
Football information changes quickly, so pages carry the date they were last reviewed. Where a page is updated in response to a change in results or schedules, the update date reflects that review. A date is not a guarantee that nothing will change afterwards, and we would rather show an honest timestamp than present routine data refreshes as news.
Originality and Rights
Our editorial writing is our own. We license data, images and feeds from their respective owners and we credit them. We do not republish other publishers’ prose. Third-party links are identified as such, and their content remains the responsibility of the publisher who owns it. If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, send a notice through the contact page with a link to the material and the details of your claim; we will review it and act appropriately.
Standards, and When We Decline to Publish
We do not publish material that is unlawful, that incites violence or hatred, that glorifies the abuse of people, or that is designed to deceive readers about what is news and what is promotion. We remove content that breaks these standards, and where a removal affects a claim we have made, we note it. We also decline to publish material that we cannot verify, and we say why when we do.
Accountability
The editorial team is accountable to the readers of this site and to the standards described on this page. If you believe this policy is not being followed, tell us through the contact page with the address of the piece in question. We read every such message, and we would rather be told that we got something wrong than be left guessing.
Changes to This Policy
This policy is reviewed as our coverage and processes change. When we make a substantive change, the date at the top of the page is updated. The version you are reading now is the version that applied when the page was last reviewed.
